One Year Anniversary

January 19th, 2015- January 25th, 2015

So here it is. Somehow it's already been a year since Chris and I said "I do". Here is the last blog post of our first year together:

The beginning of this week has been just more of the same. Both Monday and Tuesday night were spent at the gym and then TV and bed. On Tuesday, I did have my annual review at work that went very well. I also confirmed that my work schedule will be changing back to normal. Starting on February 2nd, I will be back to 5 days a week working 8-5. I will miss the day off on Wednesday, but the extra hour of sleep in the morning, and getting home an hour earlier at night will be nice. On Tuesday night, Chris and I went to the gym and signed up for the new gym challenge. Chris and I joined as a team, and the challenge lasts 10 weeks. Below are the details.

On Wednesday, I spent my day off work getting our blogs caught up, cleaning the apartment, and
playing more Zelda. After work, Chris and I went to the gym really quick before his appointment to get his hair cut. Our newest lootcrate also arrived today, and it was a cool throwback to the older games/system. The rest of the night was pretty chill, and so was Thursday night after our Insanity work out.

On Friday night, Chris and I went to the gym for a bit just to walk and get points for the gym challenge. That night we both played video games for most of the night. I played more Zelda and Chris played GTA with the guys.

On Saturday, Chris and I went to the gym first to complete our first Saturday gym challenge workout. It was painful and took us a little over an hour to complete because we did the workout 3 times through for the most points. Afterwards, Chris somehow still had the energy to go out snowboarding with the guys. While he was gone, I relaxed at home with some Zelda.

That night, Chris took me out for my surprise for our Anniversary. He took me downtown, and we were walking down the street when he pointed out a horse carriage and told me that was what we were doing. I actually teared up a bit because I had originally wanted to do this for our wedding, so it was completely fitting. Even after all this time he can still surprise me. After a beautiful horse carriage ride through downtown grand rapids with Sadie the horse, Chris took me to dinner at the Kobe hibachi grill.

From there, we made a stop at the fairlanes bowling ally for our friend's (JLo) birthday party. We didn't actually play, we just hung out with everyone for a few hours. Finally, at midnight (now officially our anniversary), Chris and I fed each other a remaining piece of our wedding cake. I was actually shocked that it still tasted good after a year in the freezer.

On Sunday, Chris and I went to Owen's house in the morning, so Chris could work on his car and I needed to do laundry. From there we went to the gym for a quick run before heading to Oasis for an hour and a half soak in the hot tub. It was extremely relaxing after a long week of working out. When we got home we finished out the night with some Minecraft and watching Star Wars.

So this is it. Our first year together. It was a great first year. From here on out we will continue the blog but it will simply be the highlights from here on out. Thanks for reading!

Start Up Weekend

January 12th, 2015 - January 18th, 2015

The beginning of this week was pretty chill. On Monday and Tuesday night Chris and I went to the gym and then relaxed at home afterwards. It was pretty cool that some random lady at the gym recognized us from the TV FitBit promo clip that is still being used on the news. I can't believe how many people have mentioned to us that they have seen that.

On Wednesday, I spent my day off work cleaning the apartment. I really wanted to pull out my old gamecube to play Zelda but I found out that both my controllers don't work anymore. Chris was a sweetheart though and ordered some new ones off Amazon for me. That night, Chris and I went to the gym and then to dinner with some of my family at Cheers. We had a nice time visiting with everyone. We got to fill the family in on our plans to run the Half-Marathon in October as well as our Honeymoon plans for April.

On Thursday, Chris and I did the Insanity class at the gym. Needless to say, we were so beat that we didn't do much else that night.

For the rest of the weekend, Chris participated in a Start Up event. For this event, a large group of people pitch ideas they have about possible inventions. On Friday, you pitch the idea and then everyone votes on the top few ideas. If your idea isn't chosen, you can join a team with one of the ideas that is chosen. Chris's idea was not picked on Friday so he joined a team working on a running app. On Saturday, he spent the day with the team doing community research do see if people would be interested in the app, and also doing as much development of the app as they could. On Sunday, they presented their project as it was so far. The different teams got different awards at the end and their team got Best Business Plan. Chris met a lot of people and learned a great deal from the experience.

Since Chris was busy all weekend I had to keep myself occupied. On Friday, my gamecube controllers were delivered, so I spent the whole night playing Zelda: Twilight Princess. On Saturday, I played the game again in the morning until Hannah came to pick me up. Hannah and I, along with some of her work friends, went to a pure romance party. It was a lot of fun to have a girl day. After the party part of it, I hung around with the girls for a while just talking and drinking wine. Chris still wasn't home when we got back, so I went with Hannah and Bobby on a trip to Grand Haven for Pronto Pups. It was quite a trek out there and I was excited because I've never been there before. Unfortunately they closed just as we got there so we returned home with no food. Either way I still had a great day with my friends.

On Sunday, I wasn't feeling all that great so I just played more Zelda and watched TV for most of the day.

Sledding!!

January 5th, 2015- January 11th, 2015

So now that the holidays are over we are back to our busy full weeks at work. On Monday, after a long day back at the job Chris and I had dinner, went to the gym, watched Gotham, and I did my passport application to change my last name on the one I already have. Afterwards, Chris played video games while I surfed the internet on his computer. Tuesday night was pretty much the same as Monday.

On Wednesday, I was off work again, and I went to Walgreens to get a new passport photo. I also played the first episode of the new Game of Thrones game...even in the game no one seems to win...Near the end of the afternoon my new books and movies from Amazon arrived. Shortly after, Chris came home from work and we went downtown to send in my passport request. We had a full year to send in my passport so they could change the name for free, and we had to next-day ship the request because we waited to the last possible second to do it.... After the post office, Chris and I finally got to go to Skywalk Deli for dinner. After going there twice in the last month and missing out due to holiday hours we were so glad they were finally open. From there we went to the gym, and Chris finished out the night with some GTA while I watched one of my new movies and then started my new book.

On Thursday, we just stayed home after work because of the big snow storm. We just had dinner and watched TV. Then Chris played video games and I fell asleep reading.

On Friday night, Chris and I had a little date night. We had tacos and Margaritas, and we watched the new Transformers movie. Afterwards Chris played GTA again because I fell asleep early.

On Saturday, Chris and I went to the gym then over to Owen's house to do laundry. While we were there, Chris did an oil change on his car and I finished one of my new books. Then we had lunch with the family and headed home. That night, Chris and I went to Union hill to go sledding. Along with us was Hannah, Bobby, Eric, Tom, Corey, Aiden and Lily. We had an awesome time! Some of the guys were snowboarding off a jump they made, and Hannah and I were sledding and playing with Lily who kinda clung to us for the night. Lily is so adorable, I hope my future kid is like her. We were out on the hill for a good 2 hours, and we were all cold and exhausted afterwards but it was totally worth it. I didn't want to leave because it was so much fun. That night we were so tired, that we both went to bed early.

On Sunday, we finally had a day that we didn't have anything planned. Chris and I spent most of the morning and afternoon playing Minecraft together. I did have to share one picture below of our game play. I was getting attacked and Chris came out to save me and took a bunch of arrows for me. What a guy!
That night we just went to the gym, and that we pretty much the end of our weekend.

New Years!!!!

December 29th, 2014- January 4th, 2015

So we have reached the end of 2014...

To begin the week, Chris and I went out to the Winchester bar with Brandon for their burger and beer deal. They have the best olive burger by far! Afterwards, Chris and I went to the gym, and finished off our night chilling at home.

On Tuesday, the last part of my Christmas present from Christopher arrived. It was a baby Groot Pop collectable. It is so cute, and it really made my day better. We just stayed in that night and had a Game of Thrones Marathon.

On New Years Eve (Wednesday), my work let us our early so I met up with Chris at home so we could pack up our stuff to spend the night partying at Owen's house. From there we stopped at Meijer for munchies and Sicilinos for more alcohol even though we definitely had enough already...

Originally the party was just going to be a few of us but it grew out of nowhere. Apparently if you want a big party you plan a small one and the people come. We started off with Chris and I, Brandon, Noah, Eric, and Owen. Then Josh, Nicole, Jimmy, Corey, Summer, Anthony, Aiden, Lily and Anthony all showed up. On top of that, Hannah totally surprised me and came over too. I was so happy she was able to make it. We also ended up with a random girl named Holly at our party too. No idea how that happened.

We set up beer pong in the garage and played music and drank and ate all night. Hannah also bought like 100 jello shots she made too which were really good. It was an awesome party that lasted until 4:30 in the morning!

On New Years Day (Thursday), we were all pretty hungover but not as bad as I expected. After I was finally able to get the guys out of bed we went out for breakfast at Grand Coney (Chris, Me, Jimmy, Brandon, and Noah). I've never gone out for breakfast on New Years before and I probably won't again. It took forever to get food!

After breakfast, Chris and I went back to Owen's house to clean up the remnants of the party. From there we went home and took a nap. It was only supposed to be 15 minutes but it ended up being a few hours. From there, we watched some TV and then Chris played some Call of Duty while I built the Mantis that Chris gave me. My building project took about 3 hours... totally worth it.

On Friday, Chris and I both had to go to work. Afterwards, we tried to go to Skywalk deli for dinner but we were shot down by their holiday hours yet again so we went to Subway instead. From there we went to get groceries and went to the gym as well. Unfortunately, I got home and passed out at like 9 but Chris stayed up and played some video games with Matt and Ricardo.

On Saturday, I got up early, cleaned the apartment, and worked on the blog. When Chris finally got up, we made breakfast together and started to watch Game of Thrones. Halfway through the episode, the power in the Standale area went out all of a sudden so we decided to go to Owens house to do laundry. Just as we were leaving the power actually came back on but we were already packed up so we left anyway. While we were at Owen's house I read my book and worked on laundry and Chris played some Minecraft with Anthony. Chris and Eric also changed the oil on my car. Thanks guys!

After we finished the laundry, we left Owen's house and went to the gym. From there, we went home and had some dinner and finished re-watching the last few episodes of the third season of Game of Thrones. Finally Chris ended out the night playing some video games while I bought some books/movies off Amazon with my Christmas money.

On Sunday, I got up early and read my book until Chris finally woke up. After that we had some breakfast and watched Netflix shows for a few hours. Then Chris beat Call of Duty while I read some more. That night, we watched the Lions game. Unfortunately, this would be the end for the Lions in the playoffs. The crappy overturn of the pass interference call that everyone is still talking about didn't help either.

After our utter disappointment with the game's outcome, Chris went back to playing video games and I finished my book.
